Our business is making your business easier.
Gateway Freight Systems Inc.
provides freight transportation services to over three hundred North American shippers using its network of approximately one thousand motor carriers. Gateway is a regulated and licensed transportation intermediary –
sometimes referred to as third party logistics provider (3PL)
– holding US Department of Transportation as well as Ontario and Quebec provincial authorities. Located
near Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Gateway employs
a large, expert staff and executes over three hundred cross-border less than truckload (LTL) and truckload (TL) shipments per week.
Gateway, founded in 1994, is committed to providing a transportation service that
delivers on the fundamentals – transporting your cargo safely,
quickly, and at a competitive price between cities across North
America. We are also committed to providing a superior service
that answers often-expressed criticisms of the trucking industry: poor customer service, tired and inefficient approaches to logistics challenges and operational systems that
are antiquated, rigid and inflexible. We believe that by re-engaging with the final users of the transportation service –
the shippers – and by leveraging our in-house technological expertise, we’ve succeeded in reinventing a mature but neglected product: North American domestic and cross-border trucking.
We have built a solid industry reputation on our ability to provide customizable solutions suited to individual customer
needs, and on more than a decade of logistics successes.
Our business is communication.
Gateway is set-up to provide our shippers with a
one-stop North American transportation solution. We provide our customers
with a seamless service, with ourselves as the single point of contact for all parties
to the transportation service. And our organic computer expertise
facilitates the continuous in-house development of software solutions in response to
the evolving needs of our customer base. We offer our shippers and
receivers the ability to arrange and track their shipments via our interactive web-enabled tracing tool.
As an option, or an addition, to our online shipment management application, Gateway’s customers can also receive automated daily emails and/or faxes apprising them of the status of their current and pending shipments.
Additionally, monthly reports are available to enable shippers to track charges and optimize their shipping patterns by providing an overview of their traffic.
Our business is transportation.
The vast majority of the traffic Gateway handles – greater than 95% – crosses the US- Canada border. Accordingly, Gateway
boasts a staff that has a comprehensive knowledge of customs procedures, at both the frontier point, as well as at inland sufferance warehouses. Gateway, therefore, makes an excellent partner for US shippers who have little or no experience shipping to Canada.
And because Gateway is located in the Greater Toronto Area where most inbound international cargo terminates and where the majority of
Canadian trucking companies are based, Gateway maintains an unparalleled list of Canadian carriers that
directly service points across the
United States. Toronto itself occupies a unique location in the North American economy with its high concentration of population and commercial activity, as well as its role as a debarkation point for many goods entering
Canada. And we are here as your NAFTA connection to Canada.
We ship things -- well. We won't leave you hanging.
